Market Price

A Market-based price moves up and down with changes in the wholesale market for heating oil.

Pros: As prices drop, so does your price. Also, there are no up-front costs or fees associated with this program.

Cons: As prices rise, so does your price.

Fixed Price

This is a fixed price for a specific amount of heating oil that is paid in advance, or spread over time with our budget plan.

Pros: As prices rise, your price does not, guaranteeing a fixed cost for your gallons.

Cons: As prices fall, your price remains fixed.

Cap Price

This is a ceiling or maximum price that you will pay all year long while benefiting if prices fall below the Cap.

Pros: If prices rise, your price will not exceed the maximum or Cap prices. As they fall, your price will fall.

Cons: There is a fixed cost to ensure your gallons under the Cap plan.
